Proceeds from the 2nd Annual Stratford Shakestail Festival will go to Friends of DARE Network, and National Service Dogs.
Friends of DARE Network is a Stratford organization that supports DARE Network, a community based organization on the Thai/Burma border. DARE Network provides prevention education and treatment for the substance abuse that occurs as a result of the profound losses and prolonged confinement in refugee camps that the ethnic people of Burma have endured. DARE Network was founded by Stratford Citizen Pam Rogers who has worked in the refugee camps for 10 years. Friends of DARE Network is run in Stratford by volunteers and has no overhead costs. National Service Dogs is an organization that has been training Labrador and Golden Retrievers to assist children and families living with Autism since 1996. For more information, please see their website www.nsd.on.ca
